What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a guided process that uses focused attention and relaxation to help you access your subconscious mind. In this state, you can more easily change habits, reduce stress, and improve mental and emotional well-being.

Is hypnosis real or just entertainment?

Hypnosis used in therapy is very real and very different from stage hypnosis. Clinical hypnotherapy is a structured, evidence-based approach focused on helping you achieve specific goals, not making you act out or lose control.

Will I lose control during hypnosis?

No. You remain aware and in control the entire time. You cannot be made to do anything against your will. Hypnosis is a cooperative process where you are an active participant.

What does hypnosis feel like?

Most people describe it as a deeply relaxed, focused state—similar to daydreaming or being absorbed in a movie. You may feel calm, detached, or highly focused.

What issues can hypnotherapy help with?

Hypnotherapy is commonly used for stress and anxiety, smoking cessation, weight loss, confidence, sleep improvement, breaking habits, and performance enhancement.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your goal. Some issues can improve in 1–3 sessions, while others may take more. Many clients notice meaningful changes quickly.

Does hypnotherapy work for everyone?

Most people can be hypnotized to some degree. Results vary based on your openness, goals, and consistency, but the majority of clients experience positive benefits.

Can I get stuck in hypnosis?

No. Hypnosis is a natural state. If a session were interrupted, you would simply return to your normal level of awareness.

Is hypnotherapy safe?

Yes, when conducted by a trained professional, hypnotherapy is safe and non-invasive. It does not involve medication or physical procedures.

Do I need to prepare for a session?

No special preparation is required. It helps to come with a clear goal and an open mind. Being well-rested and comfortable can enhance the experience.

Are sessions done in person or remotely?

Hypnotherapy can be done both in person and remotely (phone or video). Remote sessions are just as effective for most people.

How is hypnotherapy different from meditation?

Meditation is typically self-guided and focused on awareness or relaxation. Hypnotherapy is guided by a practitioner with a specific goal in mind, using targeted suggestions to create change.

Will I remember what happens during the session?

Most clients remember everything. You are not unconscious—you are simply in a focused, relaxed state.

How quickly will I see results?

Some clients notice changes immediately after the first session, while others see gradual improvement over time. Consistency and reinforcement can accelerate results.

Is hypnotherapy backed by science?

Yes. Research has shown hypnotherapy can be effective for issues like pain management, anxiety, and habit change, particularly when combined with other therapeutic approaches.
